Founded in 2008, The Stand Ministries is a ministry established with the purpose of strengthening, empowering, and encouraging teens to make a stand for Christ in their daily lives. Acknowledging that teens today are living in a world much different then previous generations, The Stand Ministries, has been challenged to reach out to teens using the most current technological avenues available as well as more personal outreaches such as the annual Stand event. The Stand is designed to be a powerful and uplifting event that will encourage teens to take a stand for their faith while providing them with valuable tools to help them accomplish that vision. The annual Stand event held each year in Springfield, Missouri, has encouraged thousands of Christian youth to make a stand for Christ. Linking Christian teens together from around the area will help them to know they are not alone in their daily struggle to follow Christ. Thanks to God's great provision as well as support from wonderful donors, The Stand is free to all who attend and each attendee is given a Bible as well as other resources to encourage them in their walk with Christ. The vision of The Stand is that it will be an experience that has a lasting impression on every teen in attendance, while also acting as a springboard toward continuous spiritual growth and leadership. While The Stand is a one night event; The Stand Ministries director, Josh Tarbet, strongly feels that The Stand Ministries needs to provide continuous resources and support to all who attend.
